Saturday Splurge

Some of you may or may not know that in 9 days I'm getting married so yesterday I went shopping for a couple of things for the big day! Both of these products I will use for the wedding and of course afterwards, I do have someone doing my makeup for me but I always wanted to have a lipstick I could use and keep, and what better than the YSL Rouge Volupte in #1 Nude Beige .

(This is how the colour shows up on my lips)

To me the colour is like my own lip colour, but better. And nice and subtle for the wedding and who cares if you need to reapply when the packaging is as beautiful as it is! I'm going for a pretty natural make up look for the wedding but I do want some nice big lashes!

My second purchase is one I found accidentally when I smelt it in someone's house. I just had to have it. That's my gorgeous Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche skinscent. It is stunning. How do I describe the smell... To me it smells like sunbathing, not sweaty sunbathing, like coconut and vanilla and all sorts of summery smells but more musky than sweet. That was a terrible description you'll have to go smell it for yourselves!!!

Who's excited for wedding pictures? I know I am!

Travel ootd

travelling ootd

Pink River Island backpack £30

Dog tooth leggings from Select £8

Tortoiseshell sunglasses from ASOS bought for £10 now £4

Oversized v-neck tshirt from River Island £22

Ash Jalouse boots bought from db3online for £95 now £79.50

In 16 days I'm going on holiday to Florida! OMG! So exciting and yes I'm that excited I've already planned my outfit to travel in! Links to each item above! I'll also be wearing my black fedora because I'm definitely not squashing my hat in my suitcase. I'm loving monochrome at the minute, maybe that makes me boring but that's how I like it. Besides my pink backpack brings in a nice POP of colour. I'm obsessed with the dogtooth pattern and these leggings are my first dogtooth purchase and I cannot wait to wear them!! My little Ash jalouse boots I wear with pretty much everything, they go with just about anything and after they've been worn in they are the comfiest boots and they make me slightly taller which is always good as I'm only just about 5'2". The oversized Tshirt is another new purchase that I've been eyeing up ever since it came into store and I've finally bought it. It's a chiffon/crepe type material with a v-neck and rolled up sleeves. I'm tempted to also buy it in black but it wasn't the cheapest for a Tshirt!

Cloud nine review

Cloud nine review

After using my original black GHDs until they literally would not straighten my hair anymore it was time for some new straighteners! My hairdressers has been using the Cloud nine wide iron on my hair for over a year now and my hair always looked gorgeous when she had finished, but my hairdresser is magic anyway so I thought I would try them myself! I bought mine from the toni and guy online store for £114.95 including free next delivery! They arrived the next day and OMG they were sooooo well packed, the box they came in was huge and my precious straighteners were right in the middle surrounded by all sorts of air bags and bubble wrap. They came with a free heat proof mat, a free heat proof case that turns into a mat and a normal black case to keep them in. I bought the wide irons as my hair is super curly/frizzy/afro like and it used to take forever with regular straighteners. The first time of using these it took half the time to straighten my hair and not once did I feel that snag where you can hear your hair snapping, they just glide over smoothly. I also had a go at curling with them and it was so easy, I like a really big loose curl... well more of a wave and these did this easily. For everyone with hair that isn't as crazy as mine there are multiple heat settings so you don't need to fry your hair if its already nearly straight! Maybe they aren't fun colours like some other brands but I'm voting quality over prettiness on this one!!

summer essential bags

summer essential bags

Tote bag and Backpack from River Island
My tote bag (£45) is my main everyday bag for the summer time I absolutely love the colours, I usually wear a mix of black white and grey so I don't have lots of colour clashes going on. The bag is very spacious and has 3 pockets on the inside, one of which has about 7 lipsticks inside. Hoarder. Oh and I also have the matching purse! The backpack (£30) I haven't used yet as its my travel bag for my holidays. I always get fed up trying to drag a suitcase and then your bag falls off your arm and ends up sliding down the handle of the suitcase or just on the floor spilling the contents everywhere, for some reason I'm far too lazy to zip up my tote bag! A pretty backback seemed like the best option and it is soooooo soft and looks really cute on.

Mini grey satchel from Primark
At £6 this was an absolute bargain and goes with everything, it has a little front pocket aswell as a little zip pocket in the main part of the bag. I use this whenever I only need to take a few things with me.

Bumbag from Bank
The bumbag (£15) is primarily for on holiday so I haven't had chance to use it yet but I thought it would be handy for walking around theme parks in florida. Shoulder bags give me neck ache eventually...no idea why! It has lots of pockets so plenty of room for a mini suncream, park tickets and money.

Barely there summer make up

Barely there summer make up

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream

In summer I don't think you need full coverage foundation, especially when its warm during the day so recently I've been using the Maybelline dream fresh bb cream. It was between this and the oil free version but this one has a higher spf which is ideal for summer, or the bit of summer we have! This blends really nice on my skin and hides any blemishes on my skin. If I don't feel that's enough I will sometimes go over with Benefit's Hello Flawless spf powder

The Body Shop All-in-one BB cream (shade 03)
Two bb creams in one make up look? Yes I may have accidentally picked up the Body Shop all-in-one bb cream in the completely wrong colour. I found a new use for it, it works really well as a bronzer bringing out the naturally darker tones in your skin which looks really natural applied in the right places!

Barry M Smokin Hot Palette
I use the Barry M palette for a few things, I really like the blush it leaves nice coral colour on your cheeks, perfect for summer! Secondly I use the white eyeshadow in the inner corner of my eyes, on my brow bone and to highlight my cheek bone! I love multipurpose colours! Lastly I use the nude colour next to the white just on my lids.

Benefit They're Real Mascara
Everybody knows how good the Benefit They're Real mascara is so I don't need to explain that. I use a couple of layers on my upper lashes and one layer on my lower lashes. The only problem I've found with this mascara is it seems to have dried out before you have finished the bottle... just me? Maybe I'll buy the smaller bottle next time!

Benefit Browzings
I love love love the Benefit Browzings kit my brows look a million times better when I use this, so naturally I use it every single time make up is applied! When I'm going for a more natural look I only use the wax side using the hard angled brush.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain (shade honey)
The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stain is my absolute absolute favourite shade for a natural summer look, it just enhances the natural colour of your lips and I love the hint of peppermint as you apply it. I think I'll be repurchasing this one before summer ends I apply it that often, its not that it comes off my lips I just love how it feels to apply!
